Thalaivi Movie

Jayalalithaa...the first woman Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Strong political personality who wrote a separate chapter in Tamil Nadu politics. Not interested in any identity, always ruling the hearts of the people. But still no one can claim to know everything about Jayalalithaa. Staying away from the media, keeping limited communication with party workers, in such a situation, not much can be said about his personal life or say, likes and dislikes. An attempt has been made to fulfill that incompleteness, which director L Vijay has brought with Kangana Ranaut in the film 'Thalaivi'. Jayalalithaa's biography is...how incomplete, how complete, we tell-

Thalaivi Movie Story

Before joining politics, Jayalalithaa did a lot of acting in films. First the mother stepped into that film industry by becoming an actress, then the needs of the family pushed Ammu (Jayalalithaa) in that direction too. At the age when Jayalalithaa made her debut in films, then children used to think about their studies or just play and play.

But the family had to support, in such a situation, Jayalalithaa made that agreement. But then that agreement gradually became his life and then that life introduced him to MJR (actually the name is MGR, but in the film he is called MJR). A great artist, a brilliant orator and a powerful figure in Tamil Nadu politics.

It is said that MGR had a very strong relationship with Jayalalithaa, but the exact definition of that 'relationship' could never be done. Neither MGR himself spoke openly about this nor did Jayalalithaa put forth her stand. But there was always a fragrance inside the party. There was such a chemistry between the two that no one ever understood what to name. That confusion is also shown inside Thalaivi. Makers have also not formed any opinion from their side.

Now talking about Jayalalithaa's film journey in Thalaivi, the relationship with MGR has also been illuminated, but apart from this, a lot of limelight has been given to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. His political innings with MGR, then parted ways after a confrontation.

The makers of Thalaivi have tried to explain this aspect in great detail. In the midst of all these stories, Jayalalithaa's personal life and some stories related to her have been worked by the makers into a film.

this story left unfinished

It is very important to understand one thing about Thalaivi. This is not a film made on Jayalalithaa's political journey. This is not even a typical politically inspired film. This is only and only the story of Jayalalithaa's early life and her entry into politics. In such a situation, if the makers bring the second part of Thalaivi, then we can definitely call it a biopic, but for now it is just an incomplete story which has been left in the middle.

The first half of the film was completely focused on Jayalalithaa's film journey. Some scenes are good, but a lot has been pulled excessively. Thalaivi's pace is very slow in the first half.

Anyway, the first one hour can be quite boring for anyone who is waiting for a spicy and powerful dialogue-oriented film. The second half definitely seems a bit tight. Aspects like the election campaign, Jayalalithaa's altercation give a decent momentum to the story.

Kangana's acting is amazing, other actors dominate

Thalaivi Movie 2021

For once in Thalaivi, there was incomplete justice with Jayalalithaa's personality, but Kangana Ranaut's work remained top-notch. Then he proved that it is his nature to play difficult characters easily. Before the release of the film, only his look was being praised, but after watching the film, you will have to put a stamp of excellent acting on his work.

The casting department has also taken a wonderful decision by casting Arvind Swami in the role of MGR. Take a look at the screen once, it is difficult to tell whether Arvind Swami is seen on the screen or MGR himself.

Nassar has also made the heart happy in the role of Karunanidhi.

The detail with which he has understood Kurunanidhi's body language is commendable. The work of Bhagyashree, Raj Arjun and Madhu will also be said to be good.

Weak direction, many scenes remain faded

As much as you might like the acting department of Thalaivi, the direction disappoints in that respect. We can for once assume that this is the story of Jayalalithaa's early life, but there too many anecdotes have been overlooked. In 1989, the misbehavior with Jayalalithaa inside the house was definitely shown, but that scene also appeared flat on the screen.

Kangana definitely dominated that scene but that incident was hastily ended. Similarly, many other such scenes of the film were seen where the incident was big but the style of showing it seemed a little faded.

The ending of Thalaivi may also surprise you. This is such an ending, in which if the second part of the film is brought, then it can definitely be called right, otherwise it will be seen as a film left in the middle.

In such a situation, if you are a fan of Kangana, then take a look at Thalaivi. His acting will make the heart happy. But if you have a tremendous interest in politics, then this film will disappoint on that aspect.
